Many years ago?across a widespread prarie 58,000 men of the U.K. lost their lives in one single day of fighting. This was July the first 1916, the battle of the somme. The armistice was signed more than 2 years later at 5am and cam into effect 6 hours later 11.00am of the 11th day of november 1918.
Never again would such barbaric loss occur in a single day of fighting. I remember taking a trip to pay hommage to the somme with a friend Steve. We were very moved by the stories which were around.
I would just like to mark my blog in appreciation of these divine souls. You can post to the wall of rememberance here.
I came back today from
London to get some sleep and rest before returning tomorrow to start a full week of work with Ogilvy in canary wharf. I have taken on a place in balam near clapham south of the river.
It wasnt until I returned to the house that my mother gave me the news that our much loved family dog had been put down on friday. This is a great loss to me and my mother. He will be missed I am sorry I was not strong enough to take him. (paddy, sputnik and?many names given by my father-he hated paddy as it was very irish!)
The process of my life change continues.
