Monday, August 25. 2008Going to visit Buckingham Palace today
Im off to visit Buckingham palace today, and enter the state room, should be interesting, and the smell of mister sheen should be think in the air
Went to south west 4 saturday and had a good day, but hurt my back in the process...lifting people including reese who must be 13 stone+ but the cahllenge had been laid down.. So that has scuppered training a bit, the good news is its a known injury not lower back and just needs time and some gradual movement. I'm really looking forward to sailing next week. Wow less than a week i will be in gibraltar. I have had dreams about Gibraltar in the past ! And it was significantly bizare, so it will be even more exciting. Wednesday, August 20. 2008

The one thing I value possibly more than anything else is my eyesight. And yet I'm here struggling to read the screen which has a luminosity of its own. Good job its not a book, and good luck trying to get off on any porn ! The energy saving light-bulb is going to contribute how much exactly to saving the planet. A big fat zero.
Because the concept is that you need zero [0] emissions to stop the damage to the ozone. That's not going to happen no matter how for past couple of weeks and next six months ( we love the Chinese again since the olmpics ) they are pumping it up there, and our American-t cousins too. So you can take your 40 watt energy saving bulbs and due to their size and the screw like nature the expression go get screwed could be taken a little to literally for my liking. I will just make mention to the fact that we have had some wonderful athletes performing recently and for the size of the Island we are we are the most successful Olympic nation in the world ! AND WITH THE FRENCH GETTING THE HIGHEST AMOUNT OF SILVER MEDALS THEY ARE THE BEST LOOSERS Tuesday, August 19. 2008BBC IPlayer and xbox via media center
I was very surprised to see that not even moving any files and accepting default settings allowed downloaded IPlayer content from the BBC to be viewable on my old school t.v. meant that through the windows media centre via vista I could watch my downloaded programmes through the xbox. The surprising thing was this was by accident. I did intent to watch the content via my laptop however but was surprised to see that the downloads were available to watch while messing with my xbox !
I am working right now for the BBC on IPlayer still. It's a fantastic position I am very grateful for action script for ! Thursday, August 14. 2008You cannot change your life in a day, you can however decide to change your life in a moment.
My life and your life is like a massive ship. It has inertia. You can decide to turn the ship but it doesn't happen immediately.
The times I have wanted to turn my life have been moments, and I expected somehow to wake up and things to be on the right track. Click on the link below to read the end. go on ! does it matter .... I was stung
I guess not.. If you were infected then you were infected point of fact. You'r not the last, and you join a long line of people who lead ordinary lives. I guess because so many were stung that becomes ordinary. You calvin have been infected with the London bug, and try as you might you will not escape. If it is within 24 hours since incubation then you could try moving to Miami but the fact that you have already lived there reduces your chances. L.A. also, well we need to get nuclear then - Rio. But Its the last of a bread that scare me ! What were the others ? Liverpool, Barcelona and Marseille. And how were they In fact intoxicating, I did not know why there was the FEAR. Locating the Fear is nigh on impossible, a multitude of conversations or images as a youth... So tell me about Rio, well that's another story doc... Monday, August 11. 2008Happy Birthday Niece
I need to stop eating kebabs, was walking home on the other side of th road to the Istanbul in tooting, and was made by one of the guys who is always
in there, he put his hand up, and I did likewise. Amazingly the rain has continued into August and my niece had a rainy birthday and this is normally not the case. I missed it this year but Happy birthday again darling. Sunday, August 10. 2008summer almost gone - was it ever here
The summer weather has been very poor. I think so far there have been 2 evening that have been nice, albeit too hot to sleep. So it's disappointing. And last year it wasn't great either. So is this shape of things to come. Have we lost our seasons ? I might not be here for next years. I feel like taking a year out not to travel but to explore business ideas and to do that I need to find a cheap place to live while I won't be earning money. I might consider becoming a dive instructor for a while.
The Olympics have started and I might get into them a bit. Had an excellent night out in cubana in waterloo, too many mojitos , but good fun and dancing.. Thursday, July 31. 2008Capoeira
I did my Second class of Capoeira today and the proper instructor was back. It was a different and harder experience. More flexibility was required but the format of cool African Brazilian music played throughout. One does some stretching and warm up and then some basic moves which develop. Unlike other arts, and this really is an art its very hand stand based and is very dance like. Indeed at the end we made a ring and the dancing / sparring began, and then others would come into the ring and challenge after some sort of ritual handshake. It was very beautiful to see the better dancers fighters what do I call you ? moving around with speed and grace. I really love it and shall go next week.

Sunday, July 27. 2008Fight like a tiger...
Finally his room his bed he crashed into it and emotions were given the green light. He had said since the demise of K.P. it was never going to be the same but then came Anne and some others inbetween however it felt like something had snapped some innocence lost. Unlike a leg it couldn't be fixed so far though each time it appeared so. So what happened on each of the subsequent occasions that HE had fallen in love then ? Each time that feeling of leaping tall buildings as bruce spingsteen had himself done. And was it ever as strong or truthful. Or was it true that that Snap was the first and only last. His friend had told him about a brick of love that this friend held. And how that his friends then love ,she had chipped away at it for him until it had gone.

Friday, July 25. 2008Capoeira Crane
I dislike fitness first and there are many varied reasons. Another popped up which is a great example why. I saw that a class of Capoeira was running and asked about it. I was told it was free and I had just to tun up (which hasn't been working in the past due to over subscription for other classes) so I tried desperately at 7.30 to book in that day, you have to do it the same day ! Saves them turning the page I guess. But anyway I was told I had to call back at 8.00 so I gave in and did that. I was told I couldn't reserve a place but that the class cost 10 pounds. Contrary to what I had been told previously I wanted a second opinion. Fitness First product knowledge is very poor you see..

Tuesday, July 22. 2008Manu Chao, time for reflexion
It was a time for 'reflexion' tonight, the energy levels dipped after a full day of rest and chilaxing at the lovebox festival 2008 headlined by Manu Chao. The little guy with a massive heart and following wore a Brazilian top and it put me into that place of thought. But it was good. From his adventures in South and Central America I decided to continue my own at some point, Brazil might be the starting point..
Monday, July 14. 2008My weight today
Just ought to mention the gym has been working, I have lost about 2lbs this week, so I'm down to 75 kilos. I think when I started a couple of months ago I was almost 80 ! No I cant have lost 10lbs.. Its not like before the fat moved from my front to the sides and back yuck. So when I saw that I had to get rid. I'm hoping its going to remain that I keep this lifestyle note I havent changed my diet..and most like 80 percent odd is water..
Monday, July 14. 2008un period especial eh commandante ?
It has been a difficult period the last day or so, but the sun shone this morning and I went out running, and found some tennis courts
My run round to Wandsworth common was good and a good finish in the gym. Would love to find a tai chi class that I can get to easily and conveniently, without fuss. I'm hoping the sun is going to stay out a bit at least for a month. Monday, June 30. 2008Viva espania !
I'm watching the final of the Euro 2008 in Good company. I have a seat and a glass of staropramen. The location is Clapham Junction. And it's sunny. I'm cheering on the Spanish as its a cheer for the style and way they play. It would be incorrect for the lucky Germans to win.
They won,and we headed of to La rueda to hijack the celebrations since I may not live to see England doing it for me. Tonight I am well, very well Monday, June 9. 2008Cuba 2008
Here is a link to my Flickr stream, then onto the story
http://www.flickr.com/photos/27380840@N03/ Travel through Cuba is so many things - but above all, and I will surely fail to impress upon you is the uniqueness of it. With a history dominated by powers that have wanted to own and manipulate Cuba it has not been at all without violent incident and poverty and injustice. In more recent history these incidents made all the more acute and rightly or wrongly by an individual man called Fidel Castro and certain super powers (men who have come and gone and Castro remains), and other less known individuals making up the army and another individual we all know as Che. The revolutionaries that once and for all freed Cuba from Batista. Some think he [Castro] is dead others read that which he has had written from his hospital bed. But this is not a story of the History of Cuba this is a story of Cuba today (may June 2008). Continue reading "Cuba 2008" |
