Its a very sad day again, for reasons I'm not going to go into me and Annelie have parted company and we know we will always love each other but Tina Turner might have a point what's love got to do with it. If it were true back then then its more true today.

It was a really sad day, I had to take the family pet wisp to the vets today to be put down.
After spending the night on the living room couch with the Winter Olympics Snow Board Cross on the tv my thoughts were filled with the coming day.
Would I be able to go through with it. It was for 11.am and I found the strength knowing it was the right thing to do.
As an life in death Wisp didn't want to play ball. On having the initial needle inserted she bit the vet. This was no pretty site and they had left the room to do this step so the vet cam back in with this horrific looking bite on her arm (I had thought to warn her that the cat is a bit wild at times but Wisp has really been calmer of late and the vet surely knows the risks no) asking if it was ok to sedate wisp. I didnt really know that the sedation would render Wisp a dead looking cat already. And though we were assured (Annelie accompanied me and I will never forget her support ) that Wisp could see us I wasn't sure I mean how do they know ?
Still the second complication is that with sedation the heart rate slows so very much that when the killing injection goes in it takes much longer to spread so we are crying our eyes out saying our goodbye, but she doesnt seem to be going anywhere from he currently comatose state , you can see no change in the dead looking eyes. The vet wanted to inject into the heart directly but even under sedation I didnt want that I didnt believe it would not be felt. So they gave her another dose regularly but by the time they had finished that she was gone. And in doing that she was taken to one side and unable to see us so she actually went with me not there as far as she knew. Its amazing that these animals we call pets seem to always be there for us come rain or shine or at feeding time. And for me this is what really binds my affection to them.
I buried her in the family garden afterwards.

I was becoming despondent yes I think that's the word with Buenos Aires. Since over the years hearing a lot about the city and recently hearing how good it was by word of mouth I changed flight plans to include it in my trip instead of surfing in Florianapolis. Crazy it was seeming until this evening. You see I had tried not to be but couldn't help but feel disappointed. BA was lacking any sort of character for me. I had sensed something the other day wandering round Bocca, but it left me equally as fast as it had come as the taxi wound its way back from narrow run down but charming streets to the wide roads and boulevards of San Telmo. I think its the wide roads and sheer number of westerners here that add to this. But after my visit to the bomberdino or boca juniors stadium right in the heart of bocca I was found by this tango place and the seed was sown. And this evening I found passion and something I understood and enjoyed - a Tango show. How the hell I understand it I don't know but I just do. Maybe in a past life or something ha ! But I feel like I know how they feel when they do the lifts and holds and hit the sharp beats of the music. Not to mention the sexuality of the dance, tomorrow I will run with this idea mixed with adding a painting to my collection. And I will try to see more Tango before I leave. Its nice to discover something new that you like

I took a lesson of capoeira today and swiftly while spinning on my head sprained my neck ! oh yes but that was before I opened up my arm doing a macaque !! I guess my enthusiasm took over but it was a great feeling to be doing it again and though tomorrow I could run a marathon I struggled to handle the overall fitness required in the first half hour of the class. I think I have a good instructor too. The gym has been a stroke of luck a corp membership so I get a 25 m pool classes and full gym, great equipment. I'm quite blown away with what I have in the North of London I don't in the south. After the sprain which I started to treat with the plough position I was taught to do the tambourine. I'm good
I went and saw this film with one of my flatmates jen, It was awesome blew me away. It touched me on a personal level which made the film all the more spectacular. No way a chic flick its funny too. Darts back and forth in time. Well worth the money in my case.

Hyde Park was my destination after work. We are supposed to finish early during the summer months Friday to enjoy the extra heat and good weather. So I took my blades in and went to Hyde Park after work. Its an excellent place to learn and I'm really starting to get my balance which is helping me to stop and slow at will. Though the wheels are inline its surprising that you can seemingly "yaw" them around this axis something which is helping overall and allows me to turn without picking my feet up. This also slows the skate down. It might not be the right technique but it is helping. I will buy some pads and start to go to town soon

The rain boy it like massive drops flash flooding, lucky to be near some shelter at the right time. Waited it out. Am going to enjoy Camden and then walk up to regents park this afternoon. Mixed a little this morning and am about to jump on the xbox. Cancelled the bbq I was meant to have today, too many people are away. Pinot is in town an old dive instructor buddy, so will hopefully get in touch with him and have a few beers.

I finally got some dj equipment and had a run that was somewhat less of a struggle. Recently its been hard running and not so much fun. The sun helped. I ran for about an hour and practised some capoeira moves at the top of parliament hill. I had to smile as a middle aged Chinese or Japanese looking man asked if he could take my photo. I tried to get my fishing permit but the guy was a bit of a jobsworth and needed my fishing license. So tomorrow I might run early and get my permit and then have the afternoon fishing ? or roller blading in Hyde Park. So the run seemed to signal the end of recent illness. I hope so. Today is a day of drinking endless fluids seemingly, but also even today I caught a quick nap. I was going to go roller blading but during my run I realised that I needed to mix some music. And so I couldn't visit the dj shop Sunday and also didn't have the fishing permit so thats what I did this afternoon. And instead of going for cd decks that play mp3's I went for a midi controller which worked out cheaper overall as I leverage the laptop. Now its set up after working out the channels - it has been too long need to get my collection of music sorted out. So today was a good day though I didn't get the sun I would have wanted I hope tomorrow I can change that.

Been working on my google map geocoding issue currently , its a service that if you give it a country it doesn't this wonderful thing and returns lat and lon coords. I have had to place a purposeful delay in the call to the service as it was detecting a flood or spam dos attack and returned a failure code.

Other than that it looks like set now 95% sure that I will be moving to Hampstead Heath. Will feel like moving to a different town. I'm sure that I will miss my kebab shop but I get to savour the northern line still at the other end. Will miss the be at one bar in Clapham Junction but that's about all.

Last Tuesday I had a fantastic afternoon swim at the countries largest freshwater pool the lido in Tooting Bec. I did 10 lengths of 91 meters then caught some of the sun through the cloudless sky.
There was a stunning women too I might add. I dugress, yes it was really quite weird going so far before reaching the end, almost twice the length of an olympic pool. It was jumping straight in as I think the water must have been 18 degrees c. I was quite fit and its interesting the fitness you can carry across sports as I havent really been swimming at all for a long time.

I just got back to mums after driving back this evening, smoked the last dried up monte cristo on a stomach of tuna and mushrooms and glided through the London streets in my trusty Focus. (I do love a good cigar will have to try the combination of tuna mushrooms and cigar again one day as it was a good buzz). I need to show her [my car] some love soon or she may kick me. I'm on the sofa about to collapse the lid of this interface to the world next to my black cat wisp. She is getting old and cranky for sure but tonight seems solid and non biting.
There are times in life when it feels like you walk alone though this is probably not the truth the perception is there and feels very real. But it is on the way to somewhere where you no longer walk alone and indeed do not feel it. Today I had an experience that fully placed me in the feeling alone category, though I was not.
Continue reading "We all walk alone at times on the way to what draws us."

I have in fact been surprised at the claims for expenses that MPs have been making. In fact more than shocked. And the backlash will be felt on the back of the backlash of the economic downturn.

If there is something that I also felt however is that a felling of optimism. Part of the old regime died in the economic collapse and it seems politicians are talking reform tonight with Jeremy Paxman at a level that would have been laughable a month ago perhaps. So in both cases perhaps the bang is nasty and has had a very negative effect but maybe it was necessary. I think it may have hurt the wrong people but they are merely casualties of a war on greed. Greed is a common denominator here and the working classes are not exempt from their greed in the housing market fuelling the demand and inflated price rises.

Ok I jumpt off my soap box for a moment, caught up with some ciudade de homens following the street kids in brazil by way of a series from the creators of ciudade de dios city of god. Cool I was disappointed as I was expecting similar to the popular film. But the series has merit and every episode a kind of message Confucius would have been proud of.

Another short term job today, but very nice atmos at DDB Health in Hammersmith, nice also to do some visual work for a change. Getting on also with my flickr widget for as3 and flex. Its mostly flash but as I built it with the sdk and started with an Application tag I'm looking at trying out some flex components for challenge. It might keep things tidy. Will see how easily they skin up as I want a custom look. Still not doing Capoeira but my handstands an general balance upside down are getting there. And also my makak's are coming off to the extent a hard floor doesn't worry me. Would be nice if i could control going backwards and balance in the vertical, at leats for a moment. Still no sign of full on Summer. But its nice to have the late evening light, allows me to get out for a run since I was biggin it ip playing battlefield 2 last night, and how good this game still is years later !

I had a moment of clarity and thought I ought to blog it.

Where I'm at - I will develop action script as and when it seems suitable interesting and a good idea or the bills start to get on top..

I want to focus on developing widgets for portals and websites, and anyone's sites generally.

I want to get into a style industry in some capacity.
I want to get into a travel industry better. Indeed combine the two sometimes. Style will mean sticking around Europe and indeed I don't think I will ever be able to not access it say at least 3 times per year if I do get to do my thing on some Caribbean Island.

So nothing drastic , an evolution but need to define a few clear goals to make it happen.

The older one (website) had some very old stuff, so I'm getting round to doing things.
Had a strange one this week end, misjudged my friday night consumption and that's all I'm going to say on that one very big baseball bat in the face note to self. But will I learn I know I caused a friend some grief. Sorry buddy I'm looking for an excuse but don't really have one. Watched some of the football, Arsenal look quite poor, I think they have been a bit unlucky this year with injury and the side is very young, wonder who will stick around, would be nice to have a few more English players in the squad.
